What is SAIL:
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is a PSU (Public Sector Undertaking), wholly owned by Government of India and is one of the largest steel makers in India. Formed on January 19, 1954 as Hindustan Steel Limited (HSL) and incorporated on January 24, 1973, it has traveled many miles to be among the top five highest profit earning corporates of the country.
With a turnover of Rs. 47,103 crore and more than 131,910 employees, it produces 13.5 million metric tons annually and is the 16th largest steel producer in the world.

SAIL MT vacancies 2012:
There are 480 Management Trainee (MT) positions on offer with break-up as follows:
Management Trainee (MT) Technical: 408.
Management Trainee (MT) Administration: 72.
Salary for SAIL MT:
Salary being offered by SAIL for MT: Basic Pay of Rs.20,600/- p.m. in the pay scale of Rs.20600-3%-46500 (E-1). On successful completion of training the Management Trainees are designated as Junior Managers in the same scale of pay. With this salary for SAIL MT, the CTC is around Rs. 7 lakhs p.a with other benefits like Leave encashment, housing/HRA and free medical facility etc.

SAIL MT Eligibilities:
Age eligibility: Max. 30 years as on 01.05.2012, i.e., not born earlier than 01.05.1982.
Relaxations exist as per Govt. rule.
Academic Qualification Eligibility for Management Trainee (MT) Technical:
Minimum 65% aggregate (55% for SC/ST candidates) marks in Bachelor degree of Engineering from following engineering disciplines:
i) Mechanical: Mechanical/ Production/ Industrial Engg./ Production & Industrial Engg./ Thermal/ Mechanical & Automation.
ii) Electrical: Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electrical, Instrumentation & Control/Power Systems & High Voltage / Power Electronics / Power Engineering.
iii) Metallurgy
iv) Chemical
v) Electronics & Telecommunications: Electronics/Electronics & Telecomm./ Electronics & Communication
vi) Instrumentation: Electronics & Power/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electrical, Instrumentation & Control.
vii) Ceramics
Qualifications must be from a recognized University/Institute.
Academic Qualification Eligibility for Management Trainee (MT) Admin:
For HR and Materials :
Bachelors’ degree in any discipline with 60% marks aggregate (50% for SC/ST candidates) with at least two years full time MBA/PG Diploma in Management with 60% marks in HR/PM&IR/Pers /MHROD for HR and Production/Operations/Materials Mgmt. for Materials disciplines.
For MT -Finance : CA/ICWA
Health Eligibility for MT (Technical):
Should be of sound physique, free from any physical defect. Medical standards stipulate minimum requirements of Weight 45 kg; Height 155 cm; Myopia and Hypermetropia, if any, not to exceed ± 4.00 in each eye and no squint or colour blindness, partial or full.
Suitable relaxation in height and weight will be given to female candidates.
Academic Qualification Eligibility for Management Trainee (MT) Admin:
For HR and Materials :
Bachelors’ degree in any discipline with 60% marks aggregate (50% for SC/ST candidates) with at least two years full time MBA/PG Diploma in Management with 60% marks in HR/PM&IR/Pers /MHROD for HR and Production/Operations/Materials Mgmt. for Materials disciplines.

Starting date of online registration: 18.04.2012
Last date of online registration: 09.05.2012.
Starting date for downloading of SAIL Admit Card from website: 04.06.2012.
Date of SAIL MT Exam 2012 (i.e. Written Test): 17.06.2012.
